New DLA Claims
You can make a new claim for DLA (Disability Living Allowance). If you are claiming for a child. That is under 16 years old.
If you are over 16 years of age. Then you must apply for PIP (Personal Independence Payment) instead of DLA https://www.gov.uk/pip.

Personal Independence Payment
Personal Independence Payment will gradually replace Disability Living Allowance. For anyone aged between 16 to 64. This includes anyone with. An indefinite or lifetime DLA award.
Your DLA shouldn’t be affected until 2015. There are exceptions. So use their PIP checker https://www.gov.uk/pip-checker. To find out if PIP will affect you.

Applying for Personal Independence Allowance
